Meeting

Types of Meetings

Meetings are an essential and valuable part of the design and realising a building process. Some of which are as follows:

1.Client Meeting

Where any matters relating to the project or the context of the project are the subject of discussions.

2. Design Meetings

Where aspects of the design and design development are the subject of discussions.

3. Consultant Meetings

Where consultants require to meet to identify issues, determine approaches or co-ordinate professional inputs as apply.

4. Pre-Planning Meeting

Where it is deemed to be prudent or necessary to meet with the local authority planning department to seek to identify the areas of focus that the planning authority might wish to have addressed as part of a planning or to seek to identify a measure a level of sensitivity or otherwise in respect of a planning aspect or aspects. This usually takes place in advance of, or early in, the preparation and lodging of the planning application. Sometimes more than one meeting can be required.

5. Roads Meeting

Where it is deemed prudent or necessary to meet with the local authority roads department to seek to identify an area(s) of focus that the roads department might wish to have addressed as part of due planning process or to seek to identify a measure a level of sensitivity or otherwise in respect of a road access configuration, capacity construction or other. This usually takes place in advance of, or early in, the preparation and lodging of the application. Sometimes more than one meeting can be required. The engineer usually makes representations or meets with the local authority Roads Department. Safe site entry and plus clear lines of vision on egress plus are main focuses.

6. Water and/or Drainage Meeting

Where it is deemed prudent or necessary to meet with the local authority Water and or Drainage department to seek to identify areas of focus that the water or drainage department might wish to have addressed as part for to seek to identify a measure a level of sensitivity or otherwise in respect of water supply and foul and surface water requirements. This usually takes place in advance of, or early in, the preparation and lodging of the application. Sometimes more than one meeting can be required. Sewage connections and surface water attenuation (retaining water on the site out of public drains) are main issues.

7. Water and/or Tender Interview Meeting

Where prospective tendering contractors wishing to be added to the tender list are interviewed for suitability

8. Pre-Contract/Contract Meeting

A meeting focused on the selection and appointment of the main contractor with view to agreeing a contract price and the putting in place of building contract between the client and the main contractor.

9. Site Meeting

Where the detail of the ongoing constructio0n process and its progress is discussed in detail on site.

10. Third Party Meeting

Any other meeting not referred to above.
